Community action: help leslie save her home

Standing with Our Neighbors Through Unexpected Loss and Transition

At Covenant life Doulas, our work exists to accompany individuals navigating life's most profound transitions-including those that arrive without permission. Right now, a member of our extended community, Leslie Cooper, is facing an immediate housing emergency following the sudden, tragic passing of her partner, Tracy.

Alongside her deep personal grief, Leslie is facing several financial uncertainty due to a sudden loss of household income. Compounding the crisis, the Philadelphia Department of License and Inspections (L&I) has issued an official violation notice for structural repairs to her home at 1930 Medary Avenue (File No. CF 2026-133878).

The strict municipal deadline to correct these violations is November 5th, 2026.

Critical corrections are required for her front steps, landing, front windows and exterior structural siding.  Without immediate repairs, Leslie faces compounding daily city fines, and dangerous structural instability right before winter sets in.

A Legacy of Compassion

Leslie has spent her life selflessly showing up for others.  For more than a year, she provided full-time hands-on daily care for a terminally ill neighbor who could not feed or care for herself. Leslie's steady presence. strength, and compassion have been a lifeline to many. Today, she needs that exact same community compassion extended back to her.

Financial Stewardship & Transparency

Our non-profit branch Covenant Lives healing Heart Agency Inc., is proudly organizing this support network. In strict compliance with trust, safety, and GoFundMe regulations, Leslie sister Renee, has been officially designated as the financial steward and listed beneficiary of the campaign. Renee holds exclusive access to the withdrawal setup, and 100% of the funds raised are legally bound and allocated to pay professional contractor fees, city permits, and construction materials for Leslie's property needs.
