Founder | Sacred Guide | Full-Spectrum Doula
Portia Nichelle Graham is the heart and founder of Covenant Life Doula. A full-spectrum doula, educator, and spiritual companion, Portia walks alongside families navigating life’s most sacred transitions—birth, loss, and the final goodbye. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare and leadership, her work is deeply rooted in compassion, cultural reverence, and community care.
After the stillbirth of her beloved son Desmond, Portia’s personal grief became the catalyst for her purpose. She stepped into the sacred work of holding space for others, becoming a guide for those walking through postpartum grief, end-of-life transitions, and complex emotional journeys. Her lived experience and ancestral calling allow her to connect deeply with the families she serves, particularly in Black and Indigenous communities where her advocacy shines brightest.
Portia is passionate about educating and training the next generation of doulas, building grief-informed care systems, and restoring the sacred in both life and loss. She specializes in postpartum bereavement, home funerals, green burial education, and sacred ceremony. Her work is rooted in radical love, spiritual awareness, and legacy building.
To every family she serves, Portia brings presence, permission, and peace—believing that even in pain, there is purpose, and in goodbye, there is grace.
